Exciting News for Local Rugby League Clubs

On February 20th, a buzz of excitement filled the Kirwan Sports and Community Club Function Centre as media and local dignitaries gathered for the official launch of Townsville’s bid to build an Intrust Super Cup (ISC) team.

Matt Ryan, General Manager of the ISC bid in Townsville, is very confident that Townsville will be given licence mid-year to build a team to enter the Intrust Super Cup competition in either 2014 or 2015.

This new team will benefit local rugby league, including Brothers Rugby Football club, as it will fill the gap to provide players a pathway to professional football without having to move away from Townsville. It will also strengthen the local competition and assist the Townsville Community with their community projects and programs.
